Frequently Asked Questions

Is Norakind only for people with ADHD?

While designed to be ADHD-friendly, anyone who struggles with procrastination, decision paralysis, motivation challenges, time blindness, or productivity shame may be able to benefit from Norakind's approach.

How is this different from other task apps?

Most apps focus on what and when. Norakind focuses on why and what happens. The consequence framework makes tasks emotionally relevant TODAY, not just intellectually important "someday."

Do I have to fill out all fields?

Only the name of the task is required. Everything else (consequences, labels, dates, if-then plans, etc.) is optional. The more you fill out, the more helpful it is, but start as small as you like!

Can I sync between devices?

Norakind uses SwiftData/CloudKit for sync. If you're subscribed to Premium, and signed into the same Apple ID on multiple devices, your tasks automatically sync.

Why are there only 3 tasks in Daily Focus?

Research on ADHD and working memory shows limiting choices reduces overwhelm and increases completion rates. Three tasks is cognitively manageable while still meaningful.

What happens to completed tasks?

They're hidden from all views. Your completed task history is preserved in your data but not displayed. This keeps the interface focused on active tasks. If you need to, you can access them via Settings or at the bottom of the task list in Today, All, or Repair views.

Can I set recurring tasks?

Yes! If you're subscribed to Premium, you can set a task to recurring at daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly intervals.

What versions does Norakind support?

Norakind is a universal app for iOS 17+, iPadOS 17+, and macOS 14+ (Sonoma). Purchase once and use on all your Apple devices. Your data is stored locally using SwiftData and syncs via iCloud.

Does Norakind support Family Sharing?

Yes! Norakind subscriptions support Apple's Family Sharing. When you subscribe, up to 5 family members can access premium features at no additional cost. Each person maintains their own private tasks and data.

Troubleshooting

I'm not completing tasks even with Norakind

Possible reasons:

  • Consequences aren't honest - Are you writing what you think you should care about vs what you actually care about?
  • Tasks too big - Break it down, and use subtasks (available after you create a task). A 3-hour task might really be 6 smaller tasks.
  • Rating inflation - If everything is 5 stars, nothing is 5 stars. Be honest.
  • Missing if-then plans - Pre-deciding removes decision fatigue.
  • Too many tasks - Stick to Daily Focus. Ignore the rest until tomorrow.

The app feels overwhelming

Try this:

  • Try starting with just the Daily Focus tab
  • Only look at your top 3 tasks
  • Only work on one at a time
  • Remember: You don't have to do all three today!
  • In the Today, All, and Repair views, you can use a compact view instead of the detailed view

You can also start out with treating some fields as optional - you're not required to fill everything out. While many find these helpful, you shouldn't overwhelm yourself even more.

I feel guilty about tasks in Needs Repair

Remember:

  • Repair plans exist specifically to reduce guilt
  • Missing deadlines is data, not moral failure
  • It's okay to delete tasks you're never going to do
  • Your worth is not your task completion rate!

Syncing isn't working between devices

Check the following:

  • Same Apple ID signed in on all devices?
  • iCloud Drive enabled in Settings?
  • Norakind has iCloud permission?
  • Internet connection active?
  • Try force-quitting and reopening app

Refunds & Subscriptions

Request a Refund Through Apple

Norakind is a universal app - purchase once and use on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Subscriptions support Family Sharing, allowing up to 5 family members to access premium features.

All purchases (including premium subscriptions and in-app purchases) are processed through Apple's App Store. As the developer, we don't have access to your payment information or the ability to issue refunds directly.

If you're not satisfied with your purchase, you can request a refund directly from Apple within their refund window (typically 90 days from purchase).

How to Request a Refund:

  1. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID
  2. Find your Norakind purchase in the list
  3. Click "Report a Problem" next to the purchase
  4. Select "Request a refund" from the dropdown
  5. Choose a reason for your refund request
  6. Submit your request

Apple typically processes refund requests within 48 hours. You'll receive an email from Apple about the status of your request.
